Ruth Mae Kidd, 80 of South Charleston, died Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at Sunbridge Nursing Home, Dunbar after a long illness.

She was a retired assistant manager for G. C. Murphy Co. in South Charleston and was a member of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church.

She was survived by her: 1 Daughter: Judy Seymour of Dunbar, WV; 2 Sons: Leonard Andrew Kidd of Beverly, WV; Waldo David Kidd of Park City, UT; 2 Brothers: James Johnson of Orlando, FL; Willis Johnson of Statesville, NC; 7 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Henry Cummings officiating. Burial will be held in Forks of Coal Memorial Park, Alum Creek. Friends may call on Friday, October 13, 2000 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Clara Dunlap, 93 of Griffithsville, formerly of Sod, died Sunday, October 8, 2000 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston after a long illness.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Alum Creek Church of Christ.

Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Rev. Arvil Smith, 68 of Alum Creek, West Virginia died Saturday, October 7, 2000 at his home after a long illness.

He was a retired inspector for the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, and had pastored several Kanawha county area churches including Diamond Baptist and Handley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Everett &Eliza Brumfield Smith.

He is survived by his wife: Sue J. Bowen Smith; 1 Son: Jon D. Smith of Charleston, W V; 2 Daughters: Cindie King-Gilpen ofElkview, WV; Kathy Jones-Roberts of Melbourne, FL; 2 Sisters: Myrtle Dragoo of Griffithsville, WV; Annie Chandler of Yawkey, WV; 8 grandchildren: Nathan, Joey, Thad, Miranda, Lindsey, Sam, Jamie & Caleb; Many nieces & nephews.

Services will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at the Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek, with Pastor David Cyphers officiating. Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at Morris Memorial Methodist Church, Charleston on Saturday, October 7, 2000 at 2:00 PM with Pastor James Holtsclaw officiating. Friends may visit with family after service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Morris Memorial Methodist Church Building Fund.

Erma Mae Dragoo, 82, of Yawkey died Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at the home of her sister, Dora Jeffery of St. Albans, WV, after a short illness.

She was a retired beautician and owner of Art Supplies in South Orange, New Jersey. She was a member of WACS -during WWII. A 1937 graduate of Duval High School, Griffithsville, WV.

She is also survived by her: Sisters: Inis McCallister of Griffithsville, WV Zulema Jaynes of Griffrthsville, WV Georgia Dragoo of New Jersey Myrtle Alford of Teays Valley, WV; 1 Brother: Oscar Dragoo of Griffithsville, WV; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2000 at 11:00 AM at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call Wednesday, October 4, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
