Nellie E. Mannon, 83 of Sod, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at the home of her son, Jerry Mannon after a long illness.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Alum Creek Church of Christ.

She is also survived by her: Other Son: Larry Mannon of Yawkey; 1 Daughter: Anna Mae Doran of Charleston; 2 Sisters: Nina Turley of Alum Creek; Grace Nunn of Sod;
2 Brothers: Orville Nunn of Sod; Dale Nunn of Griffithsville; 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren; And a host of friends.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Sunday, April 22, 2001 at 3:00 PM with Minister Gerald Watts, Minister Richard Runyan, and Minister Justin Imel officiating. Burial will be held in the Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek. Friends may call on Saturday, April 21, 2001 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Nieces and Nephew: Cassi Christian, Heather and Ethan Holstine.

Charles Breck Holstein, 45 of Alum Creek, died Friday, April 13, 2001 at home of a heart attack after his home was destroyed by fire.

He was employed by Advanced Security of Charleston, was a member of Brier Creek Baptist Church, a graduate of George Washington High School and Carver Career and Technical School and was preceded in death by his parents Emory and Tennie Holstein.

He is survived by his: Wife: Sandra DeBord; Daughter: Christina Holstein of Alum Creek, WV; Brother: Eddie Holstein of Alum Creek, WV; Sister: Mary Hypes of South Charleston, WV; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday, April 16, 2001, at 2 PM. Burial will be held in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call on Sunday, April 15, 2001 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

He was a retired coal miner for 45 1/2 years, a member of UMWA and a member of the First Church of God in Ripley, West Virginia.
