Irene Elizabeth Humphrey Saul, 86 of Yawkey, died Monday, July 1, 2002 at CAMC Memorial Division, Charleston after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Saul was the loving wife for 63 years of Crever Lewis Saul. Born March 15, 1916, the daughter of Columbus and Daisy Hill Humphrey. She was also preceded in death by the only child, Bobby Eldon Saul.

Mrs Saul was a lifelong member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church where she was the pianist, she was also a member of the Eastern Star Lodge # 106 of Hamlin.
She will be greatly missed by her family

Services will be held at Beech Grove Baptist Church, Yawkey, on Thursday, July 4, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Oshel Bell and Pastor Henry Estep officiating. Burial will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek where Order of the Eastem Star service will be conducted by O.E.S. Chapter 106 Hamlin at 7:00 PM. Betty L. Burchett, 69 of Okeechobee, FL, formerly of Alum Creek, WV, died Friday, May 31, 2002 in Richmond Hill, GA after a short illness.

She was a member of the Toms Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Toms Creek, KY.

She is survived by: Husband: Noah; 4 Sons: Charles Williams of Brookville, OH; David Pauley of Vandalia, OH; Ronald Pauley of Sumerco, WV; Lawrence Pauley of Sumerco, WV; 1 Daughter: Cazolyn Greene of Dayton, OH; 7 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.James Kelly Caudill officiating. Burial will be held in the Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Maude DeBord Fenimore, 101, of Clarksburg, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Valley Health Village So. Charleston,. She was born at Olcott and was preceded in death by her husband Arthur H. Fenimore. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church at Clarksburg where she was very active in Child Evangelism Fellowship.

She is survived by: Several Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, June 1, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richard Phelps officiating. Burial will be held at Graceland Memorial Park, So. Charleston. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Arlow L. Frice, Sr., 84 of Brounland Road, Alum Creek went home to be with Jesus Sunday, May 26, 2002.

He was a retired laborer for Union Carbide in South Charleston. A World War 11 Army Veteran and recipient of two purple hearts.

He is Survived by: 2 Daughters: Carol S. King & Shirley J. Alexander both of Alum Creek, WV; 1 Son: Arlow L. Price Jr. of Alum Creek, WV; 1 sister: Joline Hudson of South Charleston; Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, &Great great grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Rev Jimmy Webb&Rev.Roscoe Ratcliff officiating. Andrew L. Snodgrass, 36, of Madison, formerly of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2002 after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Snodgrass; his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Mary Snodgrass; and his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Shamblin.

He was a graduate of St. Albans High School and was a participant in the Shawnee Hills programs for many years. Andrew also enjoyed and excelled in the Special Olympics.

He is survived by: Mother & Step-Father: Linda and Larry Totten of Charleston, WV; 2 Bros: Scott & Mark Snodgrass of Charleston, WV; 2 Sisters: Debra Snodgrass of Charleston, WV Tamela Adkins of South Charleston, WV; Maternal Grandfather: Ervin Shamblin of Prenter; and many other loved ones.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Ivan Rhoades.

James S. “Crockett” Rutledge, 60, of Alum Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2002.

Diane R. Pauley, 58 of Alum Creek, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at home after a short illness.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Rahn Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; one sister, Mary Anne Allen Harris and husband Carl of Ashland, VA; two brothers, John A. Allen, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM and George S. Allen of South Charleston; three step-daughters, Kim Sharp of Poca; Robin Pauley of White Plains, NY; Tina Pauley of Phoenix, AZ; one step-grandson, Robert Tabor of Poca; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Roberta Bradford of Poughkeepsie, NY.

She was retired from CAMC Memorial Division and attended the Maranatha Baptist Church at Sissonville.

Mark S. Duncan, 45 of Alum Creek, died Saturday, April 20, 2002 at home of an apparent heart attack.

He was an employee of EDS Corp., South Charleston and a former employee of American Electric Power for 23 years. He was past president of the Mountaineer Little League for two years and was presently the treasurer and information officer.
