Hyland J. Purdy, 82, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 1, 2002 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was a retired foreman for Union Carbide, a member of Mountain Mission, Charleston, where he served as a choir member. He was preceded in death by his wife & childhood sweetheart, Mary. He was also preceded in death by great granddaughter, Danielle Curtis. He was an Army veteran of WWII.

Gustavia Boling, 81, of Sod, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Heartland of Charleston.
She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by James Saddler.

Virginia Curry Beury, 97 of Charleston, died Thursday, July 11, 2002 in Heartland of Charleston after a long illness.
She was a retired secretary for Charleston General Hospital with 20 years service. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, Charleston. Mrs. Beury was bom in Lincoln County and was a resident of Kanawha County for 90 years. She also was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Beury.
She is survived by her: 3 Nieces: Margazet McClure of Sherman, TX; Ann Curry Piazza and Billie Curry Kirk both of Newazk, DE; 1 Nephew: Edward Curry of Virginia Beach, VA.

He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Souls Harvest Fellowship, Nitro and a Army veteran of WWII.

He was a former deputy sheriff for Lincoln County. He worked in sales for General Electric and Carrier Heating and Cooling. He attended the Maranatha Fellowship in St Albans.
