Laudric E. Holstein, 69, of McCorkle, died peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2002.

He was retired from the Lincoln Co. Board of Education with 25 years service and attended the Vision of Harvest Baptist Church at McCorkle.

He is survived by his wife: Gladys; 1 Son: Mark Holstein of McCorkle, WV; 1 Step Daughter: Sharon Madden of St Albans, WV; 1 Step Son: John Paul of McCorkle, WV; 1 Brother: Burl Holstein of OH; 2 Grandchildren; 6 Great grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 30, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Billy Silva officiating. Burial will be in Lively Cemetery, Sod. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

G. Keith Young, 28, of St. Albans, died Thursday, September 26, 2002 at home after a long illness.

He is survived by his: Son: Brennan Young of St. Albans; Mother: Penny Young of St. Albans; Father: Carl Young of Florida; 2 Brothers: Kenneth of South Charleston; Kevin of St. Albans; Grandmother: Margaret Newcomer of Tango.

Services will be at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, Sunday, September 29, 2002 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Carl Lester Bell officiating. Burial will be in Orchazd Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Albert Warren Daubenspeck, Jr.

Albert Warren Daubenspeck, Jr., 86, passed away September 25, 2002 at Merrill Gardens in Carrollton, Georgia.

Mr. Daubenspeck was born December 27, 1915 in Mullins, West Virginia son of the late Albert Warren Daubenspeck and Elizabeth Gibson Daubenspeck. He served in World Waz II, achieving the rank of sergeant in the Air Force and was honorable discharged in 1946. He was a retired accountant from PPG Industries (1949 – 1982). He was a loving husband and father who achieved his goal of having and providing for a family who loves him. He recently moved to Carrollton, Georgia from Union City, Georgia. In retirement he enjoyed his community of friends and creating stained glass lamps. He was a former member of North Fayette United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, Georgia and was a recent member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Georgia.

Besides his pazents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annwise E. Daubenspeck.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie E. and Daniel F. Mahoney of Sacramento, CA; his son and daughter-in-law, A. Warren and Cindy Daubenspeck, III of Carrollton, GA; his two grandsons, Mr. Nate Mahoney and Mr. Josh Mahoney of Sacramento, CA; and his granddaughter, Miss Alison Daubenspeck of Carrollton, GA.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 29, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, West Virginia with Pastor Mike Kordusky officiating. Interment will Follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, Charleston, West Virginia. The familywill receive friends following the service from 3PM until 5PM at the Alum Creek Community Building, Alum Creek, West Virginia.

Julie Ann Gillian

Julie Ann Gillian, 42, of St. Albans died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston after a short illness.

She was the company administrator for the Children’s Theatre of Charleston. Julie was very active in theater in the Charleston area. She was involved in the Charleston Stage Co., Kanawha Players as well as the Children’s Theatre in various capacities. She was a former employee of January’s Academy of Dance in Charleston. She served as an instructor and director at Camp William and often in other theatre camps. She was an active member of Highlawn Baptist Church where she had served as a children’s choir director and helped with the drama presentations.

She is survived by: 3 Sisters: Lisa Gillian Simmons of Sandyville, WV Amy Gillian Jarrett of St. Albans, W V Emily Gillian Boles of St. Albans, WV; 2 Brothers: David Michael Gillian of Cross Lanes, WV Matthew Richmond Gillian of Hohenwald, TN; Nieces &Nephews: Greg, Sarah, Timothy, Chelsea, Jenny, Justin, Brad, Geoff, T. J., Melissa, Erica & Elyse.

Memorial service will be 7:30 PM Thursday, October, 3, 2002 at Highlawn Baptist Church, 2304 Jefferson Avenue, St. Albans, West Virginia. Friends will be received from 5:30 to 7:30 PM prior to the service. Interment will be in Richmond Family Cemetery, Sandstone, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the following: American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1115, Dunbar, WV 25064, the Children’s Theatre of Charleston or Highlawn Baptist Church Music Program.

Mary Frances McClure Antill, 78 of Alkol, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 16, 2002 at CAMC General Division.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Sycamore Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and church secretary. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Arritt.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; two sons, Timmy Antill of Yawkey and David Antill of Millwood; one daughter, Loretta Whitten of Alkol; one brother, Clarence McClure ofFlint, MI; two sisters, Mane Calhoun of MI and Dorothy Meadows of Alkol; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren;

Jerry D. James, Sr. 66 of Alum Creek, died Sunday, September 8, 2002, at CAMC General Division, Charleston, after a long illness.

He was a retired mechanic for Hobe Mining and was preceded in death by his son, Jack and granddaughter, Camy Jo Pettry. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Jo Ann Trent Linville Miller, of Barboursville, West Virginia.

“Jesus said” Come to me. all you who labor, and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. The gates of Heaven opened and the trumpets sounded on September 5, 2002 to welcome our loved one home to be with her Lord. after a long and courageous bout with cancer. As she ascended into Heaven, she was greeted by her earthly Mother and Father Pearl and John Trent; as well as other loved ones and friends. She was their only child. A 1954 graduate of Duval High School, she obtained her undergraduate degree from Charleston University, and a Masters degree in Administration from Marshall, plus and additiona142 hours which included a Reading Certification. She was a member of W VEA and NEA, retiring from the Lincoln Co. Board of Education with 30 years service. She was a Baptist by faith and enjoyed going to many different churches. Her spirit and love of family live on in her daughters, Glenda Clark and husband Rocky of Alkol, and Trena Jones and husband Tim of Manassas, VA. 2 sons, Johnny Linville of Yawkey, and Bruce Linville and wife Debbie of Hamlin. 6 Grandchildren, Clint Clark, of Columbus, Trent Linville of Colorado, Tracey Stratton of Connecticut, Dody Eary of Nellis, Sarah Jackson of Barboursville and Kayla Linville of Hamlin. One Step-Grandson, Chris Jones of Tyler, Texas. 5 Great Grandchildren, Alex, Emily and Ben Stratton of Connecticut, Katie Clark of Columbus, and Kelsey Jackson of Bazboursville.
