Charles W. “Chuck” Little, Sr.,73, went home to Heaven on Sunday, December 8, 2002 from his home in Griffithsville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Little; mother, Bessie McDonald Little; stepmother, Lela Little and two sisters, Phyllis M. Inman and Virginia Truman.

He was a member of the Sumerco Church of God, and retired from the US Anny, served in Vietnam and Korean wars. He also retired from the Lincoln County Board of Education and was a member of the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768 in Alum Creek.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Mahone Little; two daughters, Charlene Boulianne of Palm Harbor, Florida and Jennifer McPherson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three sons, Charles W. “Sonny” Little, Jr. of Barboursville, Christopher Allen Little of Sumerco, and Charles Gregory at home; one step-son, Danah Mahone of Hamlin; one sister, Betty Newburn of Baldwin, Michigan; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and also was a foster father to 84 children.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard McCallister and Pastor Butch Loftis officiating. Burial will be held in Lincoln Memorial Park, Hamlin with military graveside rites conducted by the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768. Friends may call on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Euna Kay Holstein, 55, of Charleston, died Sunday, December 1, 2002 on Route 19 near Summersville from injuries received in an automobile accident.
She was a claims processor for George Washington Life/Blue Cross Blue Shield at Charleston and a member of Hometown Apostolic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; son, Ted Carter, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; daughter, Vivian K. Hall of Chazleston; sister, Rhonda Crank of Charleston; two step-daughters, Sandy James and Missy Jones both of Elkview; four grandchildren, Melissa, Rachael, Joshua, and Kaylee; three step-grandchildren, Keith, Kimberly and Heather; one step-great-granddaughter, Madison.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bill Carter and Rev. Dan Coleman officiating. Burial will be held in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Dessie M. Graley, 91, of Sod, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 30, 2002 at home after a long illness.

She was a member of the Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Sod.

She is survived by her: Son and daughter-in-law: Paul and Joyce Graley of Sod; 2 Sisters: Birdie Priestley of South Carolina; Opal Elkins of Sod; 2 Grandchildren: Lisa Graley of Lafayette, Louisiana; Michael Graley of Sod.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Phil Suiter officiating. Burial will be in Lively Cemetery at Sod. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ted Tackett

Ted Tackett, 65, of Sod, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 29, 2002.

He was a member of the Griffithsville Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his first wife Erma Lee Williams; his father Kelley Tackett; and infant son, Everett.
He was a US Navy veteran, served two tours as aircraft transport specialist on the carrier U.S.S. Kearsarge. He also served as flight engineer in various squadrons of military air transport service based in Guam, Hawaii and San Diego during the 1950s.

He was retired from General Electric, Charleston Division with 33 years as an industrial motor repairman and was also a certified welder. He served as a local official in the International Union of Electrical Workers during the 1970s.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Joey Dunlap; son and daughter-in-law, Teddy Jr. and Cheryl Tackett; step-son, John Isaacs; mother, Athelene Tackett; mother-in-law, Maxine Adams; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Mike Kingrey, Judy and Tom Quintrell; brother-in-law, Earl Williams; four grandchildren, Ben Smith and family, Carissa Barnett and family, Seth and Bailey Tackett; two great-grandsons, Andy Smith and Evan Barnett; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Ministers Murrel McKinney, Gerald Watts, Earl Williams and song leader, Minister Kim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Hayzlett Cemetery, Sod. Friends may call from 2 to 9 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Willie J. Bentley

Willie J. Bentley, 80, of Alkol died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at the Oakridge Center in Charleston after a long illness.

He was a retired coal miner and a W WII Air Force veteran. He was a Christian and attended several churches.

He is survived by: 4 Sisters: Mary Siler of Kessler Edith Harvey of Mann Louella Green of Uneeda Helen Bentley of Jamestown, PA; Sister-in-law and caregiver: Elsie Legg of Charleston; several nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker.

Zoma Cledith Hill

Zoma Cledith Hill, 77 of Alkol died Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston after a short illness.

She was a retired Post Master from the Alkol Post Office and was preceded in death by her husband, Bradford Hill; parents, John and Lucy Thompson. Cledith attended the Sycamore Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Alkol.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Breedlove of Yawkey; son, Terry Hill of Alum Creek; brother, Jack Thompson of Alkol; sister, Nona Thompson of Alkol; grandchildren, Johnna, Brad and Danny Hill, Michael and Michelle Breedlove.

Services will be 1:30 PM on Friday, November 29, 2002, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Basil Hudson and Pastor Darrell Searls officiating. Burial will be in the Stone Cemetery, Alkol. Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Paul David “BIMBO” Tulley, 49, of Alkol, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at the home of his sister, Brenda Tulley Priestley of Alum Creek, after a long illness.

He was a disabled construction worker, a Marine Corps Veteran and attended the Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church.

He was also survived by his: 2 Daughters: Misty Dawn Tulley of Nitro; Trena Tulley of Dallas, GA; 2 Sons: Paul Tulley, Jr. of Dallas, GA; Jack Tulley of Springfield, OR; Father: James W. Tulley of Alkol; 2 Brothers: James Michael Tulley of Alkol; Bruce Tulley of Alkol.
