Russell “Don” McMellon, 77 of Culloden died Saturday, January 1, 2000 at Putnam General Hospital, Hurricane after a short illness.<\/p>\n
He was formerly of Yawkey, retired from Union Carbide with 27 years as a supervisor, past co-owner of McMellon Furniture at Yawkey, the bass singer for McMellon<\/p>\n
Family Quartet and other local quartets, a Navy veteran of W WII and a member of the Amy Baptist Church at Yawkey.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his: Wife: Birdie Damron McMellon; 1 Son: Darrell McMellon of Yawkey, WV; 1 Brother: Rex G. McMellon of Yawkey, WV; 1 Grandchild: Dawna Allen; 2 Great Grandchildren: Michael and Joshua.<\/p>\n
Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday, January 3, 2000 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Gary Hall officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey.
