Carl Alfred Poe, 94, of Connersville, Indiana, formerly of Yawkey, died Sunday, June 13, 1999 at Connersville Hospital, Connersville, Indiana after a short illness.

He was retired from Pennzoil with 43 years service, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Woodville where he served as a deacon and choir director.

He is survived by his: Wife: Geneva Bernice Poe; 3 Sons: Rev. James Poe of Williamson, WV; Teddy Poe of Huntington, WV; David Poe of Carlinville, II,; 2 Brothers: Homer Poe of Connersville, IN; Herman Poe of Connersville, IN; 2 Sisters: Blanche Crawley of Connersville, IN; Glenda Walter of WI; 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, Saturday, June 19,1999 at 11:00 AM with Dr. David Lemming and Rev. Oshel Bell officiating. Burial will be held in May Cemetery, Griffithsville. Friends may call on Friday, June 18, 1999 from 6 to 9 PM at the fixneral home.

Luther Carson Harrison, 87, of Charleston died Wednesday, June, 9 1999 at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was a retired coal miner, a retired refuge maintenance specialist for Union Carbide and he was a life long resident of Kanawha County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gearthel and three children, Stanley, William and Peggy Harrison.

Stanley Paul “Hooker” Lawrence, Jr., 52 of Cross Lanes died Thursday, May 27, 1999 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Lexington on April 14, 1999.

He was a general contractor, an inventor, an U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Abney Street Church of God, St. Albans.
