Christine P. Pauley of Sod, WV died Friday October 18, 2002 at CAMC Memorial Division following heart surgery.

S he was preceded in death by her son, Steven Pauley, Daughter, Sheryl Murray, Mother, Ivy Bragg and Brother, Damon Bragg

She is survived by: Husband: Leo D. Pauley; Father: Dennis E. Bragg of Alum Creek; 4 Brothers: Leroy Bragg of Hurricane Zenith Bragg of Alum Creek Stanley Bragg of Yawkey Clinton Bragg of Alum Creek; 4 Sisters: Stella Cecil of Sod; Janice Midkiff of Alum Creek; Ethel Barker of Sod; Connie Raines of Nitro; 2 Grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Lively Cemetery, Sod, with Pastor Kenneth Pauley officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at the Curry Funeral Home A I um Creek, W V.

Lenvil Priestley, 66 of Alum Creek, went home to be the Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2002 at CAMC Memorial Division after a battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Eva Priestley and son, Len Franklin Priestley.

He was a retired boiler maker from loca1667 and a member of Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his: Wife: Brenda Tulley Priestley; 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Tammy and Daniel Campbell of Alum Creek; 2 Loving Granddaughters: Brittany and Kayla Campbell; 1 Sister: Jewel Williams of IN; 1 Brother: James Howard Priestley of Alum Creek;

Steward Dale Turley, 51 of South Charleston, formerly of Kerrville, Texas, died Friday, October 4, 2002 at the Hubbard Hospice House, Chazleston after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Edith Turley and two brothers, Ernie and David.

He is survived by his: 3 Sons: Tommy Turley of Las Cruses, MX; Robbie Turley of Kerrville, TX; Derrick Turley with U.S. Navy in Great Lakes, IL;
2 Brothers: Carless Turley of South Charleston, WV; Lynn Turley Palm Bay, FL; 3 Sisters: Christinia Pell of St. Petersburg, FL; Sheryl Estep of Katy, TX; Sandra Fitzwater of South Charleston, WV; Special Friends: Alfred Newman, Eddie Childress, and Randy Shepherd all of South Chazleston, WV; 5 Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday, October 7, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be held in Winfield Cemetery, Winfield. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Curtis Callie Vickers, 87 of Sissonville, formerly of Alum Creek, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at Cedar Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, Sissonville, after a long illness.

He was a member of the Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church, a retired coal miner and a former employee of Sunbeam Bakery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helna Vickers, son, Edward Vickers, daughter, Sandra James, and grandson, Shawn Vickers.

He is survived by his: 3 Sons: John Allen Vickers of Winterhaven, FL; Harold Glen Vickers of South Charleston, WV; Walter Wayne Vickers of Bradenton, FL;
7 Grandchildren; and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, October 5, 2002 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will beheld in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

He was retired owner and operator of W. S. Lovejoy Drilling Co. of Alum Creek, was a member of the Griffithsville Masonic Lodge and was an Army veteran of W WII

He is survived by his: Wife: Effie; 3 Sons: Walter S. Jr. of Sod, WV; John E. of Alum Creek, WV; Richard L. of St. Petersburg, FL; 2 Daughters: Lou Ella Jackson of Northbrook, II.; Don Rheta Margolis of Oak Island, NC; 2 Brothers: Dorsel “Tuck” of Alum Creek, WV; George Edward of Campbells Creek, WV; 1 Sister: Irene Sowards of East Liverpool, OH; 14 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Virginia Oxley Pauley, 75 of Yawkey, died Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston after a short illness.

She was a lifetime member of Amy Baptist Church, Yawkey and was retired from Columbia Gas where she had worked as an IBM Operator.

She is survived by her: Husband: Virgil; Daughter and Son-in-law: Katherine and Frank Kilburn of Yawkey; Brother and Sister-in-law: Eddie and Doris Oxley of Dunbar; Granddaughter: Melissa and her husband, Harold Marty Burk;

Services will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Minister Murrel McKinney and Pastor Oshel Bell officiating. Burial will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Monday at the funeral home.

He was retired from the Lincoln Co. Board of Education with 25 years service and attended the Vision of Harvest Baptist Church at McCorkle.

Albert Warren Daubenspeck, Jr.

Albert Warren Daubenspeck, Jr., 86, passed away September 25, 2002 at Merrill Gardens in Carrollton, Georgia.

Mr. Daubenspeck was born December 27, 1915 in Mullins, West Virginia son of the late Albert Warren Daubenspeck and Elizabeth Gibson Daubenspeck. He served in World Waz II, achieving the rank of sergeant in the Air Force and was honorable discharged in 1946. He was a retired accountant from PPG Industries (1949 – 1982). He was a loving husband and father who achieved his goal of having and providing for a family who loves him. He recently moved to Carrollton, Georgia from Union City, Georgia. In retirement he enjoyed his community of friends and creating stained glass lamps. He was a former member of North Fayette United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, Georgia and was a recent member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Georgia.

Besides his pazents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annwise E. Daubenspeck.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie E. and Daniel F. Mahoney of Sacramento, CA; his son and daughter-in-law, A. Warren and Cindy Daubenspeck, III of Carrollton, GA; his two grandsons, Mr. Nate Mahoney and Mr. Josh Mahoney of Sacramento, CA; and his granddaughter, Miss Alison Daubenspeck of Carrollton, GA.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 29, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, West Virginia with Pastor Mike Kordusky officiating. Interment will Follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, Charleston, West Virginia. The familywill receive friends following the service from 3PM until 5PM at the Alum Creek Community Building, Alum Creek, West Virginia.
