Tamra Leslie Parsons, 56, of Charleston passed from this life on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital after an extended illness. 

 She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth “Gay” Parsons, brother Charles “Chuck” Parsons, paternal and maternal grandparents.

Tamra is survived by her twin sister, Tonya Barker of Charleston, father and stepmom, Charles and Toby Parsons, of Alum Creek, sister Kimbra Clinton of Bancroft and brother Chester “Chet” Parsons (Melissa) of Alum Creek, many neices, nephews and extended family members.

Tamra will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others. A jack of all trades, master of most; she was first call for many in times of crisis.

Tamra loved the outdoors, solo camping on the Cranberry and fishing anywhere she could. Her kindness didn’t stop at humans, and as helpful as she was, she’d rather hang out with animals. She will be laid to rest with her dogs. And now her watch has ended.

Graveside service will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, November 23rd at Given Cemetery, in Given, WV.  In case of rain the service will be held at the Given Church located at 4656 Shamblin Run Rd Given WV.

Brandi Dawn McCormick

Brandi Dawn McCormick, 39, of Hurricane, WV, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at home. 

She was a homemaker and loved spending time outdoors, camping and fishing. 

Brandi is survived by her life partner, Brian Alford, children, Brayden McCormick, Colton McCormick, Bentley Alford and Kaiven Alford, parents, Jeff and Gini McCormick, and sisters, Teaira White and Kassie McCormick.

Service will be 6:00pm Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home.  Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations toward offsetting the funeral expenses would be appreciated.

Elbert B. Brady

Elbert B. Brady was born March 30, 1946, in Madison, West Virginia, to Bernard and Willodene Brady, and departed this life on November 7, 2025, at Hubbard Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Corns Brady, as well as his parents.

A graduate of Scott High School and West Virginia State College, Elbert served in the United States Army before building a long career with Union Carbide, Rhône-Poulenc, and Yesterday Delivery. He served his community as a Deacon at Highlawn Baptist Church in St. Albans WV and his work with The Gideons International carried him across the globe, sharing his faith and connecting with people from every walk of life. Family, time outdoors, and his ministry with the Gideons remained his deepest joys.

Survivors include his children, Jeff (Carolyn) and Lori Choueiri (Mark), along with grandchildren Jeb, Matthew, Will, Alana, Nate, and Ariana. Also surviving are siblings Danny (Kathy), Janet, Vickie (Mike), and Mark (Connie); sister-in-law Kitty Corns; nephew Brandon (Becky); and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the teams at CAMC Memorial (CPICU, SICU, and 6 Front) and Hubbard Hospice House for their compassionate care. A special word of thanks goes to Jeb, who lived with and cared for his Gramps this last year.

The family also wishes to thank the ALS Association of WV and the Paralyzed Veterans of America for their great work and support after Elbert’s ALS diagnosis.

A memorial celebration is planned for November 29, 2025, from 2–3 p.m. at Highlawn Baptist Church in St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Gideons International are requested in Elbert’s memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, WV.

Delmas Franklin Moss

Delmas Franklin Moss, 82, of South Charleston passed away Friday, November 7, 2025, at Celebration Villa, Hurricane.

Delmas retired from Dow Chemical as a millwright machinist and supervisor. When he wasn’t at work, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working on his property.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelvie and Macil Shamblin Moss.

Delmas is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faye Pauley Moss; children, Julie (Keith) Lively, Cary Moss, and Benji (Anissa) Moss; brother, Wilford Moss; sister, Patsy (Roger) Perkins; grandchildren, Joseph and Haley Lively. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Graceland Memorial Park with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.

Brenda Mary Rabel

Brenda Mary Rabel, 79, of South Charleston passed away November 8, 2025, at home.

Brenda was a lifelong farmer along with her husband, John, who preceded her in death. She was affectionately known as “B” by her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She was very active in the VFW Auxiliary of the Benny Padilla Post 4768. She touched the lives of many children in the Alum Creek area as a 4-H leader.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Agnes Hogan and sister, Karen.

Brenda is survived by her children, Thomas E. Rabel, Margaret-Anne (Richard) Boggess, and John B. (Angie) Rabel; siblings, Owen (Sharon) Hogan, Maureen Widrick, Evan (Jodi) Hogan, and Barbara (Robert) Bromley; grandchildren, Anthony, McKennah, Haley, Laura, Ella, and Beau Rabel.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00-7:00pm, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek. A private entombment will be held at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Auxiliary of the Benny Padilla Post 4768, 4443 Brounland Road, Alum Creek, WV 25003.

Carolyn Sue Allen

Carolyn Sue Allen, formerly Roberts/Lippincott, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 3, 2025.

She was a resident of Charleston, West Virginia for the last 5 years. Carolyn was born in Michigan on August 20, 1951.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa “Lisa” Beth Hall/Lippincott and by both of her parents, Bob Lee Roberts and Mable Ellen Roberts.

Carolyn was active in her church, Oakwood Baptist, and had many friends within her church family that loved her dearly.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lippincott, her granddaughter Kiah Lyn, grandson Christian Lyn and four great-grandsons.

A small memorial service will be held at Oakwood Baptist Church at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to offset funeral costs to Curry Funeral Home, PO Box 9, Alum Creek, WV 25003.

Charles Randall “Charlie” Tiller, 64, of Charleston passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at home.

Charlie was a laborer and a United States Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Tiller; parents, James and Mary Tiller.

Charlie is survived by his son, Charlie, Jr; brothers, Jim Tiller of Texas and Paul (Stephanie) Tiller of South Charleston.

He will be cremated and there will be a service at a later date.

Pamela Sue Phillps

Pamela Sue Phillips, 61, of Alum Creek went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at home.

Pam was a licensed Barber & Beautician. She was in home caregiver for over 20 years. She loved to play piano and sing at church and enjoyed spending time at home on the mountain.

She was preceded in death by her father, Denzil Turley.

Pam is survived by her mother, Linda Turley; son, Jason Ray Phillips (Angelu Clutario); grandson, Isaac Ray Phillips; sister, Teresa (Scott) Argento; niece, Sarah Argento; nephew, Nathan Argento.

Graveside service will be 1:00pm, Friday November 7, 2025, at Cardinal Cemetery, 28 Cardinal Drive, Alum Creek, WV 25003, with Pastor Isaiah Hatfield officiating. Visitation will be from 12-12:30pm, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek.

Donna Jean Mooney

Donna Jean Mooney, 85, of Scott Depot went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

Donna was a 1958 graduate of Washington District High School and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She retired from Kanawha County Schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents, Herbert and Flossie Harless; brother, Herbert “Chuck” Harless; sister, Joyce Turley.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Bill) McCarty of Hilton Head, SC and Melissa (Dave) Sovine of Scott Depot, WV; 4 grandchildren, Amie (Chris) Wetmore, Jennifer (Joey) Copley, Michael Ryder II, and Will (Annie Grace) McCarty; 5 great grandchildren, McKinley and Charlotte Wetmore, Emma and Logan Copley, and Aubrey Katherine McCarty; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 7:00pm, Friday, October 31, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home with Chaplain Pete Thompson officiating. Visitation will be two hours (5-7 PM) prior to the service. A private family burial will be held in the spring.
