ETHEL H. TURLEY AKERS, 89, OF SO. CHARLESTON, DIED TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 1997 AT VALLEY HEALTH VILLAGE IN SO. CHARLESTON AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE HOPEWELL BAPTIST CHURCH AT ALUM CREEK SINCE 1944. SHE WAS RETIRED FROM THE CAMC MEMORIAL DIVISION WITH 10 YEARS SERVICE.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER: 2 SONS: WOODSON AKERS OF SO. CHARLESTON, WV; L. FORREST AKERS OF COLUMBIA, SC; 4 DAUGHTERS: HAZEL HESS OF SO. CHARLESTON, WV; MARJORIE MCDOWELL OF PALM COAST, FL; NONA WOLFE OF CHARLOTTE, NC; RUTH SCULLY OF WARMINSTER, PA; 15 GRANDCHILDREN; 5 STEP GRANDCHILDREN; 23 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; 25 STEP GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; 3 GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK ON THURSDAY, MARCH 13, 1997 AT 1:00 PM WITH PASTOR PAUL DEBORD AND PASTOR LLOYD HUMPHREYS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD IN GRACELAND MEMORIAL PARK, SOUTH CHARLESTON. FRIENDS MAY CALL ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 1997 FROM 6 TO 8 PM.
