Thomas L. “Bear” Lucas, 49, of Griffithsville died Friday, July 16, 1999 at home after a short illness.
He was a welder with the Boiler Makers Local #667, a 1970 graduate of Nitro High School, a member of the St. Albans Moose Lodge, and a former board member of the Great Oaks Farms, Garretts Bend.
He is survived by his: Wife: Janice; 2 Daughters: Meredith Tucker of Poca, WV; Sha VanHorn of Columbus, OH; Mother and Step-Father: Wilma and Bennie Wisnewski of Dunbar, WV; 1 Brother: Ralph Lucas, Jr. of Cross Lanes, WV; 3 Grandchildren.
Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday, July 19, 1999 at 1:00 PM with Father Patrick McDonough officiating. Burial will be held in McDowell Cemetery, Garretts Bend. Friends may call on Sunday, July 18, 1999 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family sugggests donations to the American Heart Association, 4510 Pennsylvania Avenue, Charleston, WV 25302.
