Luther Carson Harrison, 87, of Charleston died Wednesday, June, 9 1999 at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was a retired coal miner, a retired refuge maintenance specialist for Union Carbide and he was a life long resident of Kanawha County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gearthel and three children, Stanley, William and Peggy Harrison.

He is survived by his: 7 Sons: Damon Lee Harrison of Charleston, WV; Luther “Weetsie” Harrison of Charleston, WV; Allen “Butch” Harrison of Charleston, WV; Ezra “Bibby” Harrison of Alum Creek, WV; Paul Allen Harrison of St. Albans, WV; Earl “Bugs” Harrison of St. Albans, WV; Jerry Harrison of Charleston, WV; 3 Daughters: Gearthel “Sissy” Nelson of Alum Creek, WV; Sandy Breedlove of Alum Creek, WV; Melinda HufGuan of Charleston, WV; 1 Brother: James Paul Harrison of Olcott, WV; 36 Grandchildren 35 Great Grandchildren 5 Great Great Grandchildren

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Saturday, June 12, 1999 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gene Pauley officiating. Burial will be held in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call on Friday, June 11, 1999 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
