SHERMAN R. “FLATS” GILLISPIE, 72, AND HIS WIFE, ISABEL LEE GILLISPIE OF ALUM CREEK DIED TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 1999 FROM INJURIES RECEIVED IN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT AT THE INTERSECTION OF LITTLE COAL RIVER ROAD AND 119.

SHERMAN WAS A RETIRED COAL M1NER FROM ORLANDO COAL CO. AT BULL CREEK, A MEMBER OF THE UMW, AND WAS A MEMBER AND DEACON OF THE EMMONS FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH. ISABEL WAS A HOMEMAKER, A MEMBER OF THE LADIES AU30LLARY AND A MEMBER OF THE EMMONS FREE WILL BAPTIST CHURCH.

SHERMAN AND ISABEL ARE SURVIVED BY THEIR: 5 SONS: ROGER GILLISPIE OF NELLIS, WV; DAVID GILLISPIE OF BECKLEY, WV; JOHNNY GILLISPIE OF EMMONS, WV; MARVIN GILLISPIE OF ALUM CREEK, WV; GARY GILLISPIE OF SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV; 1 DAUGHTER: REGINA “GENIE” BARKER OF NELLIS, WV; 11 GRANDCHILDREN AND 2 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.

SHERMAN IS SURVIVED BY HIS: 1 SISTER: ETHEL GILLENWATER OF BROOKTOWN, WV; 2 BROTHERS: WALTER “BOB” GILLISPIE OF ALUM CREEK, W V; JACK GILLISPIE OF BROOKTOWN, WV; ISABEL IS SURVIVED HER: 1 SISTER: ZELLA GII,LISPIE OF ALUM CREEK, WV; 1 BROTHER: SAMMY BARKER OF CLEVELAND, OH; 1 HALF-BROTHER: CECIL BARKER OF CHARLESTON, WV
