CARL L. STOWERS, 78, OF ALUM CREEK DIED SUNDAY, JANUARY 17, 1999 AT THE VA HOSPITAL IN HUNTINGTON AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
HE WAS RETIRED FROM UNION CARBIDE WITH 39 YEARS OF SERVICE AS A PIPEFITTER, A MEMBER OF THE ALUM CREEK CHURCH OF CHRIST, A LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF LINCOLN COUNTY, A WWII MARINE CORPS VETERAN, A MEMBER OF THE ALUM CREEK VFW POST 4768 AND WAS A VOLUNTEER AT THOMAS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, SOUTH CHARLESTON FOR 10 YEARS.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS: WIFE: JEARLDEAN STOWERS; 2 DAUGHTERS: LINDA MEISTER OF COLUMBUS, OH; KAY MAYS OF BUTLER, KY; 1 BROTHER: WOODROW STOWERS OF SYLVESTER, WV; 1 SISTER: JUDY ADKINS OF VA; 2 GRANDDAUGHTERS; 2 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK, ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20, 1999 AT 2:00 PM WITH MINISTER GERALD WATTS AND MINISTER P.J. HICKS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WITH MILITARY GRAVESIDE RITES GIVEN BY THE VFW POST #4768 WILL BE HELD IN ORCHARD HILLS MEMORY GARDENS, YAWKEY. FRIENDS MAY CALL ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 19, 1999 FROM 6 TO 8 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
