Vesta G. Lawson, 100, of Yawkey, WV died Thursday, May 18, 2000 at Valley Health Village, South Charleston, WV after a long illness.
She was a lifetime member of Porter Fork Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a resident of Lincoln County for 94 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Emro Lawson and son Glenn Lawson.
She is survived by: 2 Sons: Carl Lawson of Charleston, WV Cecil Lawson of Grand Rapids, MI; 1 Daughter: Mildred Lavender of Chesapeake, WV; 2 Sisters: Lena Harlan of TN Emma Stephens of Illinois; 7 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek on Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 3:00 PM with Pastor David Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery, Yawkey. Friends may call 6 to 8 PM Saturday, May 20, 2000 at the funeral home.
