Bervil Smith, 87 of Sod, died Thursday, March 9, 2000 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, after a long illness.
She was a homemaker, a member of the McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church and a life long resident of Lincoln County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Smith.
She is survived by her: 2 Sons: Delmar “Buddy” Smith of McCorkle, WV; Bertsil Lyle Smith of Memphis, TN; 3 Daughters: Norma Jean Griffith of McCorkle, WV; Helen Francis McCormick of Sod, WV; Karen Sue Wright of Sod, WV; 13 Grandchildren 22 Great Grandchildren 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Services will be held at the McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church, Sunday, March 12, 2000 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Roe Smith officiating. Burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, McCorkle. Friends may call on Saturday, March 11, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek.
