Roger “J.J.” Bays, Sr. of Alum Creek, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at home after a long illness.
He was a construction welder, a 1971 graduate of George Washington High School, and was a Christian of the Holiness faith.
He is survived by: 1 Son: Roger Dale Bays, Jr. of St. Albans, WV; 2 Daughters: Heather Bays of Alum Creek, WV; Khara George of Alum Creek, W V; Mother: Eloise Bays Gauthier of Alum Creek, WV; 1 Sister: Patricia Zirkle of Luling, LA; 2 Brothers: Jim Bays of Alum Creek, WV; David Bays of Alum Creek, W V; 4 Grandchildren: Kylee, Peter, Brandon, & Kayla; Caregiver and Companion: Viola Lane of Alum Creek, WV.
Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Saturday, September 22, 2001 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eddie Russell officiating. Burial will be held in Stowers Family Cemetery, Sweetland. Friends may call on Friday, September 21, 2001 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
