Irene M. Abbott, 81 of Alkol, died Saturday, September 1, 2001 at home after a long illness.
She attended the Sycamore Grove Baptist Church, Alkol.
She is survived by her: 3 Brothers: Charlie Abbott of Julian; Cleo Abbott of Alkol; Herman Abbott of Walton; 2 Sisters: Emma Keller of Madison, AL; Eloise Thompson of Alkol; Niece, Anna Chapman and nephew, Darrell Chapman, whom she raised as her own; Several other nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Darrell Searls officiating. Burial will be held in Stone Cemetery, Alkol. Friends may call on Monday, September 3, 2001 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
