Quincy Tony Adams, 67, of Sod, died Sunday, December 29, 2002 at CAMC Memorial Division after a long illness.
He was a retired Sgt. First Class in the U.S. Army where he served in the Signal Corp. He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He was retired from the West Virginia State Library Commission and was 1955 graduate of Charleston High School, member of the Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Sod, and of the Coal River Model Railroad Club at Danville.
He was preceded in death by his father, David H. Adams and step-father, Henry Linville.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Leslie Adams of Springfield, MO; mother, Annalee Kinder of Danville; one brother, David B.F. Adams; one sister, Zoe Butler of Mazlington, AK; special aunt, Ethel Hale of Huntington and Uncle Eugene Norman of Charleston.
Services will be held at Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Sod, on Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Clarence Hutton and Pastor Mike Kordusky officiating. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by the Benny Padilla VFW Post #4768 will be held in Lively Cemetery, Sod. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek is in charge of the arrangements.
