William “Bill” Turley

William “Bill” Turley, 70 of Sod, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2002.

He was an auto body repairman by trade and spent the last 30 years of his life serving the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; three daughters, Beverley Hobbs of Ashford, Debbie Sigmon of South Charleston, and Paula Fields of South Charleston; nine sisters, Elaine Akers of South Charleston, Mary Lee Scott of Maryland, Evelyn Chapman of Huntington, Judy Hamill of St. Albans, Sue McCormick of Salem, Virginia, Joan Hayes of Sumerco, Renee Baynes of Dunbar, Helen Hernandez of St. Albans, and Valena Trowbridge of Sumerco; two brothers, Glen Turley of Parkersburg, and Charlie Turley of Falls Church, Virginia; six grandchildren, Gari Ann Boggs, Bradly Linville, Allyson Foster, Jennifer and Diantha Sigmon, and Bobby Fields; three great grandchildren, Miranda and Joshua Boggs, and Chance Sigmon.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Sunday, March 24, 2002 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Roe Smith officiating. Burial will be held in Lively Cemetery, Sod. Friends may call on Saturday, March 23, 2002 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
