William R. “Bill” Shartzer

William R. “Bill” Shartzer, 82, of Sumerco, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at home after a long illness.

He was a retired auto painter for Joe Holland Chevrolet, South Charleston. A member of Sumerco Church of God and a WWII Army veteran.

He is survived by: Wife: Billie; Son: William Shartzer of Upton, KY; 3 Step-sons: Ronnie McCallister of South Carolina; Michael McCallister of North Carolina; Timothy McCallister of Florida; 2 Step-Daughters: Sandy McCallister of Florida; Dreama Hammack of Elkview; 2 Brothers: Henry Shartzer of Leitchfield, KY; Walter Shartzer, of Florida; 2 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; 10 Step Grandchildren; 6 Step Great Grandchildren

Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 1, 2003 at the Church of God, Sumerco, with Pastor Richard McCallister and Pastor Butch Loftis officiating. Burial will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Service in care of Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek.
