Robert Dale Sowards, 64, of Alkol died Thursday, Dec 9, 2004 at home after a long illness.
He was a stone mason and worked in construction. Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Edith Linville &Woodrow Sowards, and brother, Hershel Sowards.
Robert is survived by his wife: Rose; 2 sons: Wayne Loftis of Sumerco Anthony Loftis at home; 1 daughter: Anita Adkins of Spurlocksville; 5 sisters :011ie Bostic of Griffithsville Wanda Bostic of Gay, WV; Anna Gue of Branchland Linda Cobb of Alum Creek; Mena Stanley of VA; 5 Bros: Woodrow Sowards, Jr. of Sumerco; O. Jay Sowards of South Carolina; Frankie Sowards, Warren and Herman Montcastle, all of Yawkey; 4 Grandsons: Andy, Justin, Derek, Jared 3 Granddaughters: Melissa, Emily & Whitney; Host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, Dec 11, 2004 at the Mud River Fire Department on Bulger Road. Burial will be in the Richmond Family Cemetery, Spurlocksville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Mud River Fire Department. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek is in charge of arrangements.
