Freeman P. Bell

Freeman P. Bell, 90, of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 13, 2005 at the home of his granddaughter, Mary Alice Schmidt of South Charleston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Belva Bell; first wife, Ruth; son, Terry; brother, J.E. Bell; step-daughter, Betty Whitlock and great granddaughter, Kathryn E. Schmidt.
He was a member of Briar Creek Baptist Church, Brounland and retired from Jefferds Corporation and UMW.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Whitlock Bell; sons and spouses, Tony (Cheryl) and Tim (Timyle) Bell all of South Charleston; daughters and spouses, Joyce (Eric) McAllister of Chantilly, VA; Karen ( Hayden) Gray of Tallahassee, FL; step-sons and spouses, Joel Mack (Sandra) Whitlock of Alum Creek, Jim Whitlock of Texas, David (Janice) Whitlock of South Charleston; five brothers, Radith Lee “Shorty” and Kenny both of South Chazleston, Sanford “Satchel” of Sproul, Rondal and Dennie of Alum Creek, two sisters, Phyllis Harrison ofDunbar and Eloise Dunlap of Alum Creek, granddaughter, Mary Alice and husband, John Schmidt and their son, Tristan; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren.

Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 17, 2005 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Tommy Roberts and Rev. Al Mendez officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Special thank you to daughter-in-law, Cheryl Bell, for faithfully staying by his side thru out his illness.
