Edward M. Sparkes IV

Edwazd Marcus Sparkes IV, 26, of Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of South Charleston, was born March 31, 1979, and went to the Lord on Aug. 6, 2005.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Edward and Nancy Sparkes Jr.

Surviving are his parents, Edward and Karen Sparkes III; grandparents, Elvin and Margazet Alford; sister and her husband, Regina and James Sullivan; brother and his wife, Michael and Marilyn Sansom; nieces and nephews, Kevin, Mackenzie, Brittany, Destiny, Tyler and Colin; aunts and uncles, David Alford, Margie and Robert Childress, Terry and Theresa Alford, Deborah Baxter, Beverly Tierney, Jane and Tony Musante, Nancy and Joel Bagnell, Ann and Nathaniel Leiberman; many cousins; and godchildren and special people in his life, Jasmine and Seth Hatton, Ryan Hillstrom, Justin Hatton, Adam Stremka.

Marc worked at Grandma Karen’s Rocking Around the Clock Child Care. He had many great qualities that made him a wonderful person to work with children. He greatly enjoyed his job because he loved children and the children loved him.

Marc continued to give even after death by being an organ donor.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastors David Mitchell and David Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
