Charles D. “Charlie” Huffman

Charles D. “Charlie” Huffman, 88, of Alkol, Lincoln Co., went home to be with the Lord he loved February 26, 2005 after a year long battle with cancer.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Jearldine “Sally” Huffman.

He is also survived by one daughter, Betty and her husband, Shannon Dotson of Julian; three sons and their wives, Danny and Audella of South Charleston, Benny and Pauletta of Alum Creek, Bobby and Peggy of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

“Chazlie” retired from Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, MD in 1978. He was an active member of the Sycamore Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Alkol, for 52 years, where he sang in the choir. He was also a charter member of the Alkol Lions Club.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Sycamore Grove Baptist Church with Pastors Gene Pauley and Jimmy Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Cuny Funeral Home, Alum Creek, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family wishes to thank all of those who participated in his care over the past year with a special thanks for the caze provided by Hospice in his final few days.
