Charles C. “Doggie” Javins

Charles C. “Doggie” Javins, 69, of Ashford went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Noah and Maggie Javins; brothers: Clarence, Harold, Ralph, and Terry; sisters: Hester, Ruby, Edna, Juanita, and Betty.

Charles was retired from Taylor-Blackburn Battery Company at Hernshaw, a member of Rumble Community Baptist Church, and served in the US Army.

He is survived by:

Wife: Delores; daughters: Darlene “D.D.” Butcher and husband, Rex; Gayle Javins; son: Charles “Chucky” Javins and wife, Samantha; step-children : Phillip Morris and wife Denene; Barry Morris and wife, Tina; Cathy Morris; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters: Marcheta Hill; Delores Zammarelle.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 18, 2005 at Rumble Community Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Harold Officiating.  Burial with military graveside rites conducted by the Madison VFW will be held in Barker Cemetery, Ashford.  Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the church.  Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, is in charge of arrangements.
