(George) Creech. Their love story began with their marriage on April 10, 1946. These longtime partners passed away just 17 hours apart a beautiful portrayal of their love and devotion to each other.
Wanda was born February 10, 1928 in Olcott, West Virginia to the late Rome George and Sally (Turley) (George) Miller. She passed away on the evening of October 30 and the next day just a tad later, as he was at times, Wilmer went to be with her mid-day on October 31. He was born on April 23, 1924 in Dry Branch, West Virginia to Joseph Brooks Creech and Nancy (Caudell) Creech.
Wilmer left Washington District High School to serve his country during World War II as a sailor on the Battleship Pennsylvania and saw combat in some of the War’s biggest sea campaigns in the South Pacific. He returned after discharge to graduate and to marry Wanda, who also attended Washington District. Wilmer retired from FMC Corporation. They made their home in Alum Creek and until passing lived in the same home they built together seventy plus years ago.
They are survived by their two children; Randy (Linda) Creech of Kingwood, Texas and Regina (Joe) Bare of Alum Creek; four grandchildren, John ( Jennifer) Creech of Houston, Texas, Sara (Derek) Laws of Kingwood, Texas, Lisa (Larry) Fisher, Craig (Sherri) Bare all of Alum Creek; nine great-grandchildren, Nick (Emily) Bare, Hannah (Chuck) Wolfe, Brooks (Kelsey) Creech, Brady (Abbey) Creech, Brett (Cassie) Creech, Brennan Creech, Grant Laws, Davis Laws and Jacob Laws; two great-great-grandchildren, Zane Wolfe and Brantley Bare.
Wilmer was one of eleven brothers and two sisters and was the last one to pass. Brothers were Earl, Homer, Arnold, Conrad, Ralph, Douglass, Eugene, Donald, Alvin and his identical twin, William. The two sisters were Wanda Kannedy and Ruth Flowers. Wanda was one of two brothers and three sisters. She was also the last to pass. Her brothers were Paul and Billy, and sisters were Genevieve Myers, Ruth Villane, and Katy Hill.
The family would like to extend its gratitude and thanks to caregivers: Mason, Debbie, Sis, Pam and Linda as well as HospiceCare. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd., W., Charleston, WV 25387-2536.

Kenny said goodby to one of his best friends today. I have heard stories of their antics all our married life. I always enjoyed seeing him and Wilmer together because both of them had great big smiles the whole time they talked and joked together. Love to his family.

At this time of sorrow may you find comfort in your memories. Randy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. What a beautiful love story.
I am sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. I hope the family will find some comfort and strength in Jesus promise of the earthly resurrection(Acts 24:15)and the renewed Paradise earth, where death will be no more and no family will mourn the death of a loved one.-Revelation 21:3,4;John 5:28,29;Luke 23:43. may GOD(Psalms 83:18)grant you peace and comfort now, during this grievous time.-Matthew 5:4.
Randy, your parents were indeed remarkable. Thanks for sharing their love story. So sorry for your loss, but they lived a wonderful life and are now celebrating in heaven. We love you and feel your pain.
Randy, my condolences to you and your family. But, from where I find myself right now, just having loss Joan 9/22/18, my friend, partner, companion, mother of our 3 children, and wife of only 39 years, I see Peace and beauty in these two love birds going to Heaven at nearly the same time. A day or so after Joan died, I said, it should be written in the Bible that once a couple has been together as long as Joan and I had been (44 years), much less as long as Mr. & Mrs. Creech has, God should call them home to eternal rest together. May both of their souls Rest In Peace. Give my Joanie a big hug and kiss for me if you see her.
I am so sorry for your loss.i really liked Wanda and Wilmer. Very good people. Prayers for Gina and family and Randy and his family. Known them for all my life.
Thoughts and prayers to Randy, Regina and families. I was lucky enough to know this wonderful couple growing up in Alum Creek. This is a beautiful love story. Rest in Peace, Mr and Mrs Creech.
Thanks, Jeanne so thoughtful of you.
Today after the ceremony, weather permitting, we will spread their ashes on the mountain top behind their home.
