Paul Bernard Painter, 92, of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice West.
He was a retired Electrician, Instrument Mechanic and Crane Operator from FMC in South Charleston.
Paul served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was also a member of the Dunbar Masonic Lodge #159 and a Life Member of the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768.
He preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dilima Loftus Painter; and brothers, Earl, Burl and Chuck.
Paul is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anna Mae; children, Joyce Galloway, Richard Paul Painter, Lou Weisberg and Mona Painter; grandchildren, Andria, Elijah, Billy and Michael; and great grandchildren, Asa, Heidi and Aria.
Service will be 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The committal service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Emma Chapel Cemetery in Emma Chapel, WV, with military and Masonic graveside rites.

Loved Paul Painter. I used to baby sit Joyce while he and Anna Mae went out for the night. He and Anna Mae were very special to me. Rest in Peace Paul. You will be missed.

My deepest sympathies to Anna Mae and family. Paul was a precious soul who touched the lives of so many. He always told the story of how he met and married Anna Mae. A member of VFW 4768 to which I am an Auxiliary member. It’s been a privilege to have known him. God bless the family.
Lou you have been so great in bringing your Mom and Dad to the VFW and other activities. I am so glad I got to meet and talk with them. Give your Mom a hug and tell her how very sorry we are . We love you..we will be saying a prayer for all of you!
