Katherine Sue “Susie” Perdue, 60, of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Susie was born Nov. 7, 1956 to the late “Buster” and Vivian Parcell.
She was a graduate of Sherman High School. Susie was a faithful member of the Bible Center Church, where she served as a nursery worker. She worked at the Calwell Practice in Charleston, and was a former employee of the Boone Oil Company in Madison and the Costa IGA where she was a store manager. Susie enjoyed tending to her garden, spending time with her family, cooking with her granddaughters and splashing in the waves – she loved the water.
She also was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Jimmie and Wanda Perdue.
Susie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Wayne; sons, Jared (Sydney) Perdue of Hurricane and Brent (India) Perdue of South Charleston; sister, Jean Perdue; brother Joe Parcell; three granddaughters, Lauren, Charli and Canon; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be noon Monday, March 20, at Bible Center Church, 100 Bible Center Drive, Charleston, with Pastors David Jones and Chad Cowan officiating. Burial will follow at the Holstein Cemetery, Dartmont. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Being a devoted Christian, it is only fitting that Susie left her Earthly body on 3/16.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The family would like to express a special thank you to all her friends and family that shared this journey with us. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Bible Center Church, 100 Bible Center Drive, Charleston, WV 25309.

Susie was one of the finest HR directors I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I will definitely miss her kind words and wonderful smiles. Although I am saddened by her passing, my heart smiles to see the testimony made by the date that Susie left this world for Heaven. My deepest sympathies to her family and especially to her children and grandbabies that she spoke so proudly of, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
So very sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family.
Wayne, Dempsey and I pray for you and your family with a broken heart. She was such a friend and a blessing to work with ..She gave a wonderful testimony to those she knew and we will never forget the love she gave us/ May God fill your hearts with sweet memories of this wonderful Godly woman
Wayne and family, we were so sad to hear of your wife and mother passing, praying for strength in this difficult time
Once in a lifetime you are given a gift of a person who is always kind, sweet, unselfish in all ways. Her light will always shine in her boys and granddaughters. The love that was always shown between her and Wayne was a joy to see. My brother Jimmie once said, if you don’t like Susie, then there’s something wrong with you. We will miss her always and never forget her.
It saddens me to hear of the loss of one of the finest persons with whom I have ever been associated. We all grieve with you and mourn the passing of Susie from our lives. It was such an honor to have known this very special person.
Wayne, Jared, Brent and extended families, your wife, mother and grandmother left you such a wonderful legacy of kindness, honesty, hard work and Christian ethics. Be proud as you remember and reflect on her beauty in all the days to come. Always know that you have our kindest thoughts, hopes and prayers.

Wayne and boys, so sorry to hear of Susie’s passing, she was a lovely lady, so sweet and kind. Praying God will give you strength and heal your broken hearts.
With our deepest sincere sorrow for your great loss. Words can”t express how broken our hearts are. May God wrap his loving arms around your whole family and comfort you in this time of pain. Love and prayers Michael and Marlene Graley.
With deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences I write to share a beautiful scriptural promise of comfort and hope. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you,’ declares Jehovah, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope.” This hope is the promise to see our dear loved ones who have past away again. When God brings them back to life through a resurrection to reunite them with us forever again. John 5:28,29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” What a beautiful promise and how comforting to know that we can have the heartwarming hope that someday, in God’s new world, we will be reunited with loved ones who have fallen asleep in death.
Until that day soon may fond memories of your dear loved one bring you comfort during this hard time in your life. Look back on all the good memories you were able to have and smile at the fact that you were able to share these. My heart and sympathies go out to you and your family.
My deepest sympathy goes out to all of Susie’s family.
Susie was a wonderful person, I got to know her and her family well when I helped care for her mother.
May the Lord wrap his arms around you all in comfort and ease your sorrows, know that the Lord had a very special place in Heaven for such a wonder person.
My heart is sad when I saw this. She was such a wonderful person always! May God’s peace and love be felt by her wonderful family.
I am so sorry for your loss. Rest In Peace
I am so saddened by this news. Susie was just a wonderful person, so kind in every way. My heart and thoughts and prayers are with you, Wayne, Jared and Brent.
Wayne, Jared, Brent I am so sorry for your loss, she is gone much too soon. I remember so well the days at Alum Creek Elementary, with very happy memories Susie was such a sweet loving person.
My eyes leak as I remember sweet Susie. I first knew her as a little tyke coming to the store with her family. She loved to sit on Mom’s (Frances Hudson) lap and write her numbers. When she grew up, I did not live in WV, but Mom hired her to work with them. They enjoyed each other so much and now they can greet each other again. My deepest sympathy to Wayne and her entire family, I know how much you will miss her.
I knew her in high school. I cannot remember seeing her that she did not have a smile on her face. So sorry for your loss.
Wayne and Family, We are so so sorry for the loss of your sweet Susie!!! She was a wonderful sweet lady, and always had a smile! We are praying for comfort and peace for the days ahead!
Love and prayers, Steve and Delma Nelson
