General C. Bowman

General C. Bowman, 88 of Alum Creek, departed this life Monday, November 14, 2011 after a long illness.

He was the son of the late Fred and Zella Bowman; also preceded in death by his wife, Mariah and brothers: Jerry, Freddie and Edward.

He was retired from Barboursville State Hospital.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet (Ben) Swartz of Parkersburg;  two sons, Bryant (Barbara) Bowman of Alum Creek and Giles (Sarah) Bowman of Charleston;  brother, Paul (Barbara) Bowman of Alum Creek;  sister, Kay (Jerry) Fannin of Charleston;  six grandchildren;  two great grandchildren;  two step-daughters,  Shirley (Phil) Thompson of Alum Creek and Joan (Fred) Lane of St. Albans.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be at the Bowman Family Cemetery at Alum Creek. Family and friends will gather from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768, RR 7, Box 290, South Charleston, WV 25309.

I was so sorry to hear of Genearl’s passing. He was such a great friend. He loved our Gospel Video’s on our local TV Station WACE … To all of you family and friends, we will always remember your dad and mom’s love for out TV station. Lord Bless all of you.

To the Kinsolving family: Please accept my condolences on the loss of your most loved one. It is obvious Odie was surrounded by a loving family and I’m sure his presence will be missed.
