What a sweet lady. I have such wonderful memories of her and Wilson. My grandmother Stella and Opal were such good friends. I miss the sound of Wilson’s coon dogs barking on the side of the mountain and Opal’s cuckoo clock in her kitchen. Prayers to the entire family
Connie and Family, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to you in the loss of your lovely mother , Opal. She was a dear friend whom I thought the world of. She was the sweetest , caring and loving of everyone she met. She used to call me and we always end up talking about the Lord and how she loved him and how she was ready to go home anytime he called her. I am sorry I didn’t go to her funeral , had an accident and am unable to sit on any hard seat . I will truly miss my dear sweet friend and if there is anything I can do to help you all please call me. Sending hugs to all and prayers for the family. God Bless.
Connie and family We often wondered about Opal over the years. We were saddened to hear of her passing but glad to know she lived a long and full life. Kenneth worked with her at DMV and thought highly of her.. Wilson got Kenneth his first coon dog when we moved to Charleston. He paid $50 for Bud a black&tan. We treed a coon with him the first time we took him out. We kept him until he died.We have had many more over the years but will always remember our first. We would come over to their house often. I remember we were there once and Opal was cooking a coon. The smell was terrible. They were both great people and we think of them often. They are together now.
Prayers for the family. Opal and Wilson were great neighbors. I loved them both dearly. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen her in a number of years but she will always have a special place in my heart.
Love to our daughter-in-law Amy and family.
