Vaden LoftisVaden Kyle Loftis, 88. of Charleston passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Dunbar Center after a long illness.

He was head produce clerk at Kroger with 32 years service.  He was a U. S. Navy veteran of  WW II and the Korean War; and  also a member of the American Legion in Dunbar.

Vaden was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Sylvia Loftis;  step-son, Rodney Loftis and grandson, Matthew.

He is survived by his companion of 47 years, Jo Ann Richardson; daughter, Judith Mullen; sons, Robert Kyle (Wendy) Loftis; Gregory Dee (Ruthie) Loftis; Benjamin (Regina) Loftis and Gary Wayne (Sandy) Loftis; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, at Curry Funeral Home in  Alum Creek with Pastor Art Hage officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.   The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd., W., Charleston, WV  25387-2536.

We fondly remember growing up in the neighborhood with your family.
We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of your dad.

Worked with Kyle when i first went to work at Kroger’s on Smith street.Even gave me a few rides home when i needed one.Was a really good and fun man to be around and work with.Sorry for your loss.My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
