Rudy D. Pauley Sr.

Rudy D. Pauley, Sr., 83, of Sod, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 , after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Dessie Pauley and brother, Roland Pauley.

Rudy and his wife, Virginia, owned and operated BRIT Tire Company in Charleston for many years. He was a member of the Griffithsville Masonic Lodge for 60 years; an Army veteran and member of Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia; sons, Rudy Dale, Jr., and wife, Beverly of Alum Creek and Richard and wife, Yvonne of Sod; and granddaughter, Sarah Pauley of Alum Creek. He is also survived by his sister, Kay (Duke) Belcher of Alachua, Fl.; brothers, Asa Pauley of Alum Creek and Royce (Janet) Pauley of Florida.

A graveside service officiated by Pastor Oshel Bell will be held 12 noon Tuesday, July 7, 2015 Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey with Masonic Graveside Rites.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Boulevard W., Charleston, WV 25312.

As a distant Cousin of Rudy, I wish I had known him better. He will be missed by all who knew him well.

Rudy was the kind of man that you look up to and aspire to become. I always looked forward to our living room visits with Rudy and Virginia. I am honored to have known him. Prayers and condolences.

My dad introduced me to Rudy when I first started driving. I bought my first of many recap tires from BRIT starting in the early 1970’s. He was always kind and respectful.
