Sue, Jen & Jeff, my heart goes out to you at this time of grief. James was my uncle for 55 years so we have seen & been through a lot over that long period. I remember when him and Sue were courting and we would hide in the bedroom and peek around those “lovely blue velvet couches Mae had in the courting parlor”. I remember staying with you guys at Pearls house and in the garage apartment she had. I remember when Jen and Jeff came along too! Those were memories that will never fade. Oh yes and we cannot forget the fun in the VW Beetle. Sue, take care of yourself now. You have not taken time for yourself for years and now you need to concentrate on caring for yourself. I am sorry I am not there, I am still in Florida. Thoughts and prayers are with you guys.
James was such a kind youth leader to the youth at Porter Fork Baptist in the 70s. He gave much of his time and was always a blast! He drove us to youth rallies, hosted egg hunts and Halloween parties, directed Christmas plays, supervised car washes, taught Sunday school, played upset the Post Office all night long, etc……….Many fond memories of years gone by are all because of the time James gave to the youth of the community. I will never forget James or those good times. Sue, Jennifer, and Jeff…………thanks for sharing him with the rest of us………May comfort, peace, and love be near all three of you and his extended family.
R.I.P Jim ! Prayers to everyone ! Used to work with him years ago on the Island @ UCC
