Marvin and family,
I am so sorry for the pain you must be going thru. Helen was a friend and classmate at Duval Hi School.
After graduation we all went our different ways but connected with class reunions and later the annual Duval all
class reunion. Helen was a wonderful person and I really enjoyed seeing her at the reunions. I know Helen touched many lives as a teacher and she will live on thru the memories.

Dear Marvin, and Family,
I am so sorry I am not at home to attend the service for Helen. I feel so privileged to have worked with Helen the last 10 years or so she worked. She was a beacon of hope for the children who entered her classroom and a helpful co-worker to the staff. I always smile when I think of her, my sympathy for you great loss. Anne Phipps
Sharee, I am so sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry I cannot come to the funeral.
My earliest memory of Helen is with a “poodle” skirt, bobby socks and saddle oxfords! She would be getting on or off of the school bus! Always laughing and smiling! I grew up hearing about her life from her mother and seeing her from time to time with her little girls. I always felt part of her mothers life and hers. No matter how far away from home, my grandmother always kept me up on Cleste and her girls life. I have no doubt Helen has scores of people who feel they have somehow been part of her life. This is a beautiful tribute to her, we carry with us a lasting piece of who she was. In my minds eye I see her young, laughing, with bobby socks. Hold tight to your memories, there she lives forever. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear of your loss… Thinking of the family in a difficult time that we all must face.. ..
Sorry for your loss, she was a wonderful lady..
I had the pleasure of having her in 1st grade and again in 4th grade at Lory Julian School. She was the absolute best teacher/person in the world, even when I got to high school I would come by the school just to see her and help out in the class room! We even got a cat from her at some point :)..I’m so sorry to hear of your loss! Prayers for her family! She was the best!
Wienie roasts, finding something for me to wear to Sunday school, never judging or condescending. My Aunt Helen loved her girls unconditionally. She was steady, strong, loving, forgiving. I don’t remember Aunt Helen ever raising her voice and believe me Sharee and I gave her many reasons for doing so on those long summer days in the sixties. I wish I could find the words to comfort my uncle Marvin and my cousins. While I have not seen you in many years you are often in my thoughts and always in my heart.
To Helen’s Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Helen’s passing. I know her health had declined over the past few years. I hadn’t been around her for a least a couple of years. When she attended the church of Christ in Griffithsville, I knew her and Marvin for many years and went to school with her grandchildren (some of which still attend the Griffithsville congregation). She always was sweet and kind to me. I will miss her dearly. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love your sister in Christ, April Hudson Hildebrand
I wanted the family to know that I had planned to attend Helen’s service & pay my respects. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to due to being ill (I have no voice for starters) and wouldn’t want to give it to any of you. The whole family are in my thoughts & prayers in your time of sorrow. Helen was my sister in Christ and I will miss her dearly. There are great memories of her life that we all will carry with us.
