My Papaw was one of the greatest men I’ve ever known, and he will be deeply missed. Because of his kindness, humor and love in life, Chris and I will carry only happy childhood memories of him. I will always think of Papaw when I see a hummingbird, and remember the “Donald Duck” noise he would make to get our attention before he cracked a smile. I’ll tell my daughter about the “two-legged, bald headed, food stealing mouse”, and how he loved building fires in his wood-burning stove. Mamaw, you are such a strong woman, and your grace in Papaw’s passing solidifies my admiration for you. I am forever grateful for you and Papaw: for our Christmases and vacations together, for raising Daddy to be the man he is, and for providing Justin and I an example of what a long-lasting marriage looks like. I love you so much, and we’ll all see you very soon!

I am so very sorry for your loss. Losing someone we love is truly heartbreaking. Something that can bring us a great deal of comfort are the words at Acts 24:15 which tells us how very soon God will bring our dear loved ones back to life through a resurrection. How we long for this wonderful time to have our loved ones back with us again, forever.
