Gerald was a great man. It has been a blessing to know him and his family. We will never forget the time he almost left Craig when they were going on the golf outing at Shelley and Casey’s wedding. We still laugh about that to this day. 🙂 We also enjoyed the times we got to be in church with him at Hilltop when he had Craig to come and preach. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We love you.

As I sit and reflect back through the many memories of Gearld, these two thoughts come to mind. The first thought is, that he was a Christian not only to himself but to all he came in contact with. Because of that I reminded of what is written in John, and I think it is appropriate for me to quote the verse in this way, “There was a man sent from God, whose name was Gearld”. The second thought I have of Gearld is his many acts of kindness in helping others, through deeds or conversation, (sometimes a lecture). The words of Stephen Grellet come to mind, “ I expect to pass through this world but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do, to any fellow being let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again.” My heart is heavy, thoughts and prayers to all the family.

We have lost a great man of God. Gerald was one of the most humble men I have ever known. I loved his tender heart and his hearty laugh. I know that if there is a way he will be giving out candy to everyone in Heaven and enjoying his time with God.

Dear Jan, Ginny, Vickie, & Lee,
I’m so sorry to hear about Gerald. I have fond memories of our families together, back when we were young and had more life ahead of us than behind us, and our parents were invincible – especially our Dads. It’s been a few years for me but I still miss my Dad (and Mom too), so please know that my thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
