Stephanie Waldron Sansom

Stephanie Waldron Sansom, 34, of Sod, won her long battle against cancer on Saturday, February 16th 2013.  On this day, God called her home to receive her new body and live with Him in His Kingdom of Heaven for eternity.

Stephanie was a graduate of University of Charleston, Class of 2000.  She was a RN-BSN/Case Coordinator at CAMC for 14 years.  She was a member of Forks of Coal Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her father, Douglas Waldron; maternal grandmother, Betty Rabel and paternal grandparents, Dennis and Doris Waldron.

She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 13 years, Jerry; two precious babies, Jessica (8) and Jeremy (6), foreign exchange daughter, Alex Romanenko; mother, Dorothy Waldron; step-grandfather, Hubert Rabel; Stephanie’s in-laws which she considered her own, father-in-law, Basil Sansom and wife, Frances; brother and sister-in-law, David and Missy Sansom; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Eric Briles; sister-in-law, Julie Barnett and husband, Keith Oldaker; niece, Ashley Briles, newphews, Matthew and Josh Barnett, EJ  Briles, Andrew and Christopher Sansom, and very special friend Michelin Mosteller all from Sod, WV.  Stephanie has many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to nephew, Josh, who has lived with Jerry and Stephanie since she was diagnozed last year; he was just like her son.   We would like to send a very special thank you to all the friends that helped take care of the kids anytime it was needed and all the people that have helped the family in so many ways, including Dr. Nagarajan and his staff.

Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Keith George officiating.  Burial will follow in Lively Cemetery.  Family and friends will gather from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear about Stephanie. I was one of Stephanie’s nursing instructors. She was a wonderful nursing student and a very caring, loving person. The family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jerry your family is definitely in my thoughts and prayers. I know you have a long road ahead of you, but you are a wonderful father. God will help you through this journey. You have such a wonderful support group that will be be there for you whenever you need them. Keep the faith and continue to live each day for the Lord. Love you guys!

There are no words I can say to express what we are all feeling. I wish I could be there with you. Just know that I am thinking of you guys and will be praying for the strength for you to get through this. Remember, if God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. He must have a need for another angel. She will be greatly missed.

It is with heavy hearts we must say goodbye to our beloved friend Stephanie. With GOD in my heart and soul I know that I will see Stephanie again someday. You will be missed by all that knew and loved you!
