Mason Dale (Bradshaw) Kirk
On Sunday, February 3, 2013, Mason won his long hard battle against cancer, when God called him home to receive his new body and live with him in His Kingdom of Heaven for eternity.
Mason was a loving son, brother, husband, father, nephew, cousin and friend to all who had the privilege of having him as a part of their life. He was born in Charleston, WV, on May 26, 1987, to Debbie Kirk and Carless Bradshaw.
Mason was a Christian, who kept faith in God throughout his illness. He attended George Washington High School and Duval High School. He later went on to become a lineman and was last employed by Mas-Tec. He loved coon hunting, camping, fishing and spending time with his family.
Mason is preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Lynn Kirk, maternal grandparents, Mason & Doris Kirk, paternal grandparents David & Elizabeth Bradshaw, Pa-Paw Garrett Holstein and one uncle Bubby Holstein.
He is survived by his mother, Debbie Kirk, father Carless Bradshaw (both of Alum Creek), wife, Brittany Nichols Kirk of South Charleston; brother, Nicholas (Stacy) Kirk of Charleston; sons, Codye Bell and Chase Tribble both of South Charleston, daughters, Kaden Hudson of Yawkey and most special, his baby girl, Mayleigh Grace Kirk due to arrive March 26, 2013, whom he fought so hard to see. He is also survived by special aunt and uncle (who was like a mother and father to him), Marie and Roger Holstein (his Nunny and Bubby), his special aunt (High-tec Redneck) Sissy Kirk, and one special Uncle Mason (Hot Rod) Kirk, maternal grandmother Mary Holstein, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, which he loved so very much.
Services will be 1:00pm Thursday, February 7th at the Curry Funeral Home Chapel, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, WV, with Pastors Martha Kirk and Michael Gibson officiating. Burial will be at the Holstein Cemetery at Dartmont. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, February 6th from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
So sorry for your loss, particularly with someone so young. I know this is a very difficult time for the family. Something that has always given me comfort is a scripture at Revelation 21:4, it says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I sincerely hope this brings you some comfort.
I just found out about Mason. Although we never got a chance to get to know one another we spoke in passing. I guess I always thought we would get to know each other better one day and now I again realize that life is fragile and short . I didn’t realize he was even sick. It seems like just yesterday I seen him as a young kid then as a young teen and now i don’t have a chance to say goodbye for that I am truely sorry. Goodbye buddy. Your Friend Ashley Moore
