Shirley E. Bryant

Shirley E. Bryant, 72 born in Beckley, WV and made her home in Yawkey, WV went home to be with the Lord at home on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of the late Virgie & Orville Lucas and is also preceded in death by her sisters Helen Phipps and  husband Junior, Stella Bryant and husband Ray and a brother Jerry Lucas.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker  survived by her husband of 38 years,  Vaughn (Pete) Bryant, daughters,  Dianna (Roy) Gibson of Goldtown, Sherry Bryant of Malden, Amanda Bryant at home. Brother, Gary Lucas of Rand and sister Sue Johnson  of Pond Gap. 3 grandchildren: Debbie, Michele (Roger) Sias and Kassie 5 great grandchildren: Heather, Michael, Olivia, Brandon and Braden and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday,  December 20, 2009 at the Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress

Road,  Alum Creek with Pastor Greg Reese officiating.  Burial will be in the Bryant Family Cemetery at Yawkey.  Family and friends will gather from 6 to 8 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Special thanks to our friends in our community and to the doctors and staff at the David Lee Cancer Center. In lieu of  flowers memorial contributions may be made to CAMC Foundation for the benefit of The David Lee Cancer Center.

Mom,
Not a day goes by that I don’t remember your laugh. People always say “it gets easier with time.” The truth it that it doesn’t. I cry on yours and dad’s birthdays and on holidays. I will always carry the love yall had for me everywhere I go. Love u mommy and I miss you.
