Mary Virginia Alford, 81, of Garretts Bend passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Alford; parents, Charlie & Sally Johnson and sister, Janice McCallister. Mary will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her 4 children and spouses:

Chester (Mary Kay) Alford of Garretts Bend
Clifford Alford of Yawkey
Jerry (Cheryl) Alford of Garretts Bend
2 Brothers: Danny & Terry
4 Sisters: Ethel, Justine, Martha Mae & Beverly
9 grandchildren: Timothy, Kimberly, Barbara, Andy, Nikki, Holly, Chad, Mandy & Kristy.
13 great grandchildren
Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastor Richard McCallister officiating. Burial will be in Sansom Cemetery, Garretts Bend. Friends and family may gather from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
