A Life of Faith, Family and Love
Friday, October 30, 2026

Billie Dove Means, 97, completed her earthly journey and entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A woman of unwavering Christian faith, Billie devoted her life to God, her family, and the values she held dear. Her faith guided her through life’s joys and sorrows and remained the foundation of her remarkable 97 years.

Billie was a devoted mother of four children. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joe Wade, who passed away at the tender age of two.

She leaves behind her loving children, Helen (Terry) Adams, Marlene, and Dewey Junior; five grandchildren, Misty (Todd) Mitchell, Heather Nicole, Jessica (Steven) Harvath, Amber (Kevin) Gillenwater, and Christopher Grubbs; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Billie was a longtime, active member of Briar Creek Baptist Church. Following her move in 1965, she joined Cobbs Creek Baptist Church, where she continued her devotion to her faith and Christian fellowship.

Her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.

While she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in her heavenly home, reunited with her precious son, Joe Wade and beloved husband, Dewey Means.

Service will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Bobby Mann officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:21
