Micheal “Mike” Mawer Meadows passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on August 21st, 2026.

He is survived by his wife Yetta, his daughter April, and his sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Doug Powell. He also loved his six step-children and his 15 grandchildren.

Mike was very proud to be from Lincoln County, WV and to have graduated from Duval High School. He was equally as proud to have graduated from Marshall University.

During his life, Mike worked in construction, taught history and was an assistant football coach at Duval High School & was a Senior Buyer at the State of WV Purchasing Division.

He was recruited by Marshall University for the position of Director of Facilities Planning and Management. His first project at MU was the Marshall University Football Stadium.

Additional buildings on Marshall’s campus include the John Deaver Drinko Library, the Arthur Weisburg Family Applied Engineering Complex, the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center, the Robert C. Byrd Biotechnology Science Center, the MU Forensic Science Center and many more.

Off campus buildings in Huntington, WV include the MU Medical Center, the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Erma Ora Byrd Clinical Center. Also, the Marshall Mid-Ohio Valley Center located in Point Pleasant, WV and the Marshall University Graduate College in South Charleston, WV.

His final project was the conversion of the campus of Mountwest Community & Technical College in Huntington, WV.

Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing and having fun with his friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any American Veterans Association.

Memorial Service will be 1:00pm Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey, WV.
