Elbert B. Brady was born March 30, 1946, in Madison, West Virginia, to Bernard and Willodene Brady, and departed this life on November 7, 2025, at Hubbard Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Corns Brady, as well as his parents.

A graduate of Scott High School and West Virginia State College, Elbert served in the United States Army before building a long career with Union Carbide, Rhône-Poulenc, and Yesterday Delivery. He served his community as a Deacon at Highlawn Baptist Church in St. Albans WV and his work with The Gideons International carried him across the globe, sharing his faith and connecting with people from every walk of life. Family, time outdoors, and his ministry with the Gideons remained his deepest joys.

Survivors include his children, Jeff (Carolyn) and Lori Choueiri (Mark), along with grandchildren Jeb, Matthew, Will, Alana, Nate, and Ariana. Also surviving are siblings Danny (Kathy), Janet, Vickie (Mike), and Mark (Connie); sister-in-law Kitty Corns; nephew Brandon (Becky); and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the teams at CAMC Memorial (CPICU, SICU, and 6 Front) and Hubbard Hospice House for their compassionate care. A special word of thanks goes to Jeb, who lived with and cared for his Gramps this last year.

The family also wishes to thank the ALS Association of WV and the Paralyzed Veterans of America for their great work and support after Elbert’s ALS diagnosis.

A memorial celebration is planned for November 29, 2025, from 2–3 p.m. at Highlawn Baptist Church in St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Gideons International are requested in Elbert’s memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, WV.
