
Millard Lewis Brogan
September 25-1947 – October 14, 2025
Millard Brogan was born on September 25, 1947, to Clorine and Deskar Brogan in Sod, WV. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School, he went on to study mining engineering at West Virginia University, graduating in 1975 at the top of his class.
After graduating with a degree in mining engineering, he started his career at Monterrey Coal Company as a mining engineer in Carlinville, IL. He continued his career with ExxonMobil that took him all over the world.
In the late 1980’s, Millard met Janie Baugh in Litchfield, IL. Millard and Janie went on to combine their families with Danny Baugh, Janie’s son from previous marriage and Scott Brogan, Millard’s son from a previous marriage. Together they had Kelley Brogan. He got great joy from his grandchildren, Darcy and Ethan Baugh, Bowen and Bennett Brogan-Spaeth and church family.
Millard retired and spent his time with family, restoring cars and motorcycles and spending time with the youth at 2nd Baptist Church in Cypress, Texas. He traveled extensively but was a true American Christian at heart often wearing patriotic shirts and ties.
He was predeceased by his mother, Clorine Brogan and father, Deskar Brogan, brother Roger Brogan, sister Billie Wood and nephew Richard Brogan. He is survived by his wife, Janie and brother James Brogan.
Service will be 11:00am, Monday, October 20, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Isaiah Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at Lively Cemetery, Sod. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Millard asked for donations to be given to Tunnel to Towers, T2T.org, in remembrance of our veterans and fallen heroes.
