David Lee Brogan, 77, of Alum Creek, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 23, 1948, David lived a life defined by service, love of the outdoors, and deep devotion to his family. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam War veteran in the United States Army, where he was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment—known as the Wolfhounds. His courage and dedication during his military service remained a source of pride throughout his life.

After returning home, David found joy in the simple things that brought him peace— hunting, fishing, and the quiet moments spent on his front porch. He had a passion for mowing his yard and keeping his home just the way he liked it.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Nellie Brogan, and his brother, Stephen Brogan.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Belva Brogan, and his children: David Brogan (Crystal) of Alum Creek, Kim Brogan of Buffalo, and Randy Brogan (Jess) of Alum Creek. He was a proud grandfather to Katelyn Harper (Landin) of Griffithsville, Ethan Brogan (Kelsie) of Griffithsville, Megan Brogan (Tristan) of Griffithsville, Paige Tucker (Jared) of Buffalo, Brooke Martin (Luke) of Eleanor, Abeigh Meadows of Eleanor, Jayce Brogan of Buffalo, Wesley Brogan of Alum Creek, Nate Brogan of Hamlin, and Brieanna Brogan of Alum Creek.

His legacy continues through his cherished great-grandchildren: Dylan, Carson, Lincoln, Ella, Ryker, Annastyn, Rhett, and Haidyn. He is also survived by his brothers, Ed Brogan (Becky) of Hurricane, and Ronnie Brogan (Judy) of Alum Creek.
David will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for nature, and the deep pride he took in his family. Though his chair on the porch now sits empty, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In accordance with David’s wishes, the family will honor his life with a private graveside service.
