Mason Grey Holdren, 14, of Griffithsville passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

My Big Boy, the lover of family get togethers, birthday cake, mountain biking and dirt bikes. May your soul stay on the cool mountain breeze with peaceful sounds of sunset, Momma and Daddy love you.

Mason was a proud team member of the Kanawha River Wildcats National Interscholastic Cycling Association. He was so looking forward to the start of race season with his brother Max, who he loved and wanted to protect from the worries of this world. He was Mamaw’s heart. He loved Papaw, his hunting buddy, with all his heart. He was a siren “enthusiast” and spent hours mapping and recording West Virginia sirens. He enjoyed attending Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church and had a relationship with God. He loved his Daddy and knew no matter what he wanted to do whether it be riding dirt bikes, going to a Nascar race, or a Snowshoe trip, he would make it happen.

Mason is survived by his parents, Amanda and Carl Holdren; brother, Maxwell Holdren; grandparents, Clarence and Sue Griffith, Mary Holdren; Auntie Samantha (Kevan “Unc”) Breedlove; cousins, Kristen, Terry, Owen and Hudson Thompson; lifelong friend, Halli Byrd; best friend, Daniel Gillenwater; and girlfriend, Savannah Messinger.

Graveside service will be 1:00pm, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey.
