David Lee Simmons, Sr. 77, of Tornado, went home to be with the Lord on Monday December 23, 2024, with his loved ones by his side, at CAMC General Hospital as a result of an accidental fall at his home on Sunday December 22.
Dave was known for being a jack of all trades, but for the past 30 years he served as the head of maintenance at Maranatha Fellowship, St. Albans, WV where he faithfully attended. He was a United States Army Veteran and spent his life for his wife, children, grandchildren, and many foster children. He was met at Heaven’s gate by his wife, Victoria, son; David Jr., and many other loved ones.
He is survived by his children; Cory (Jennifer) Simmons of Tornado, Stephen Simmons of St. Albans, Amy (Josh) Bucklen of Cross Lanes, Sara Simmons of Salt Rock, Richard Simmons of St. Albans, Kimmy (Jake) Simmons of St. Albans; sister, Lynn (Kirk) Tabor of St. Albans, and Brother; Shawn (Beth) Hughes. Dave is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends whom he dearly loved.
A Celebration of Dave’s life including Military Honors will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday December 28, 2024, at Maranatha Fellowship, St. Albans, WV with Pastors Darren Powell and Joey McCutcheon officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:30 AM until service time at noon at the Church.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Terri Friedman for her special friendship to Dave, and to Amanda King for her support during this difficult time. Also, to the STICU at CAMC General for their all-out effort, our very good friends at Maranatha Fellowship and Curry Funeral Home.
