Roger Dale McCallister, 70, went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 21, 2024, at home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Mearl Kidd McCallister, three sisters, Carol Blackburn Dooley, Dinah Chandler, and Jewell McClure, grandson, Tyler Smith and step-son, Kenneth Abbott.
Roger attended Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church and worked for Libby Owens as a glass cutter, and the State of WV Liquor Warehouse. He served as a Volunteer Fireman and EMT for Lincoln County. He was a 1972 graduate of Duval High School, loved going to church, playing his guitar and singing.
He is survived by his wife, Diana McCallister, daughters, Mindy (Tom) Treadway, Tabitha Smith, and sons, Chris (Whitney) McCallister and Roger McCallister, Jr. sisters, Linda (Tom) Settle, Kathy (Bob) Judge and brother, David McCallister. He is also survived by three step-sons, Randy (Tiffany) Justice, Dakota Lovejoy and Robbie Bailey, step-daughter, Debbie Oxley, and grandchildren, Johnna Treadway, Steven Treadway and Sophia Slack and step-grand children, Easton and Kyler Justice.
Service will be 2:00pm Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Dent and J.D. McCormick officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Sumerco, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
